Had a fantastic week 21-28 June on the Wadden. Drying out on Monday afternoon and Monday night was magically beautiful. We were the only boat near a nature reserve, seen countless seals. The vast expanses of sand, the setting and rising sun, it was all equally enchanting. At 5am we were awakened by the sound and howling of the seals, curiously swimming towards our boat. And with a small layer of water, thousands of birds threw themselves on the walking buffet. Also great stretches of sailing, with wind force 4/5. It took some getting used to a flat-bottomed boat, it was our first time, but after a few hours we were already enthusiastic. Schiermonnikoog and Ameland were also top; the wide sandy beaches, beautiful cycle paths through the dunes and along the dike. Worth repeating (but of course very lucky with the weather). And excellent service by the organization.
